This initiative takes a youth-centric approach. We aim to equip one another with the knowledge and skills needed to use social media responsibly and to critically evaluate information, particularly in the context of AI's increasing presence in our online interactions. We seek to foster engagement and reflection through the exchange of our collective experiences and insights.

Greenwich High School

I'm a high school student at Greenwich High. I love learning about the complexities of digital law, politics, and propaganda's historical and contemporary effects.

This past summer, I had the opportunity to expand my understanding at the Harvard Secondary Summer Program, diving into the intricacies of digital infrastructures, privacy, data protection, and how technology shapes society.
Following this I created this project under the First Selectman's Youth Commision aimed at raising awareness among teens about the negative influences of social media, AI, and misinformation with a certification program with e-learning and quizzes.

Our website features interactive quizzes on safe and responsible social media usage. These quizzes are designed to engage visitors and enhance their understanding of digital safety and responsible social media usage.

About First Selectman's Youth Commission

The First Selectman’s Youth Commission is a community of young people committed to promoting the youth voice in the Town of Greenwich. Inspired by First Selectman, Peter Tesei, The Youth Commission was established in 2014 to engage a diverse group of high school students--who represent different backgrounds, different schools, different geographic parts of Town, and different interests--to champion youth concerns for the purpose of improving the quality of life for young people in the Town of Greenwich.

As advocates of youth initiatives in the Town of Greenwich, members of The First Selectman’s Youth Commission review and address issues that concern and impact youth and teens, exchange ideas and collaborate with town entities and other youth organizations, and provide support for programs and initiatives focused on positive youth development and engagement. The Youth Commission works directly with the First Selectman and the Town’s Youth Services Bureau Administrator.
